County Management System (CMS)
Hampshire Hockey County Management System (CMS)
The Hampshire Hockey County Management System (CMS) is the central hub for administering hockey competitions across Hampshire. Developed specifically for the Hampshire Hockey Association, the system provides clubs, schools and competition organisers with a modern, secure and easy-to-use platform for managing competitions, fixtures and key club information.
Following the successful introduction of the Senior Cup Competition module during the 2025–26 season, the CMS continues to evolve. This season sees the introduction of two major new competition management modules, allowing Hampshire Hockey to manage both seasonal league competitions and one-day tournaments entirely within the system.
Our aim is simple: to reduce administration, improve communication and make Hampshire competitions easier to organise and more enjoyable to follow.
Why We Built the CMS
The CMS was developed to replace Hampshire's ageing legacy systems and provide a platform capable of supporting the future of hockey administration within the county.
As hockey administration has become increasingly complex, so too has the need for secure data management, efficient communication and competition software that reflects the way hockey is actually organised.
Rather than relying on generic software, Hampshire has invested in a bespoke platform designed around the needs of our clubs, schools and volunteers, with ongoing development ensuring the system continues to improve year after year.
What Can the CMS Do?
The CMS now supports a wide range of hockey administration, including:
- Secure registration and management of club and school officials.
- Senior Cup competition management.
- Seasonal league management.
- One-day tournament management.
- Online team entry for clubs and schools.
- Fixture administration by participating clubs.
- Online result submission and automatic league tables.
- Live fixtures, draws and results published on the Hampshire Hockey website.
- Automated communications and notifications to clubs and schools.
- Secure storage of club and school information in accordance with current data protection requirements.
Seasonal League Management
The new Seasonal League Module has been developed primarily for junior league competitions, although it is suitable for any competition that runs over a period of time.
Competition organisers can create leagues, configure competition settings, generate fixtures automatically and publish them directly to participating clubs.
Home clubs can then update fixture details such as venue and start time before both clubs submit results online. Once matching results have been received, league tables update automatically and are displayed live on the Hampshire Hockey website.
The module also supports more flexible competition formats, including triangular festivals and grouped fixtures, providing functionality not currently available within England Hockey's GMS platform.
One-Day Competition Management
Also launching this season is the One-Day Competition Module.
Designed primarily for school competitions and In2Hockey tournaments, this module enables organisers to:
- Accept online team entries.
- Automatically create pools and fixtures.
- Generate quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
- Schedule competitions across multiple pitches.
- Automatically rebalance competitions if teams withdraw.
- Publish fixtures, draws and live results directly to the Hampshire Hockey website.
This significantly reduces the amount of manual work required to organise one-day events while making competitions easier for participants and spectators to follow.
Who Uses the CMS?
The system is used by:
Clubs
- Chairman
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Senior Cup Prime Contact
- Junior Prime Contact
Schools
- Junior Prime Contact
- Finance Contact
Competition Organisers

Registering Your Club or School
Every Hampshire club and school should ensure that its key contacts are registered on the CMS and kept up to date.
Junior Prime Contacts and Senior Cup Prime Contacts can use the system to enter teams into the appropriate competitions once entries are opened.
As further competitions are introduced, additional functionality will become available automatically.
Looking Ahead
Development of the CMS continues throughout the year.
Our immediate focus is to further improve the public-facing competition pages on the Hampshire Hockey website, making fixtures, results and league tables easier to follow, particularly on mobile devices.
The Hampshire CMS represents a long-term investment in the future of hockey administration within the county, and we remain committed to listening to user feedback and continually improving the platform.
